Media theorists:

Media theorists and theories to consider in audio visual and print text: (all is research and so is taken from direct quote) https://revisionworld.com/a2-level-level-revision/media-studies-level-revision/key-media-studies-theorists/audience-theorists Audience: George Gerbner  – Cultivation Theory: “The cultivation theory suggests that the more you look at television, the more you are likely to believe in the reality of the representation e.g. believing everything you see and hear on BBC News 24 and not challenging the nature of a constructed text”. David Gauntlett  – Producer as Consumer (Prosumer): “Media Studies students regularly make their own short film productions but are also regular consumers of the media – in doing so they are both producer and consumer blurring the boundaries of traditional media consumption”. katz and Blumler  – Uses and Gratifications Theory: “Different audiences gain different pleasures from a media text e.g. Gravity can be...

Magazine treatment sheet:

Magazine treatment sheet: front cover: Use one character Katie Mayer - portray her as a, "social media star" thus relevant to her being on the front cover irregardless of the series itself. Try and convey the fact that she would be on it anyways. Use shots from previous shoot before the idea of the new one replacing the substance abuse one with the millennial finalised idea. Use word to incorporate the font and layout  Double page spread: Use photos from the same shoot with the close ups used as a background to overlay the article text onto.  Article context - involve director - do an interview with the director to give the audience/provide them with a deeper insight into the issues explored.

Final coursework - to be marked:

Magazine research and analysis:

The two main inspirations behind the creation of my magazine are ID and LOVE magazine. Both institutions I feel effectively use the digital attention and p,latform they have to promote upcoming talents and already established stars, but still challenge the traditional layout of magazines through their uses of bold colours and taboo topics - both elements of which I am including in my own front cover and double paged spread.   LOVE MAGAZINE:  front cover: Restricted colour pallet - warm and vibrant coral and red tones white writing image central with the text at the front of the image Article: Jack Appleyard is every stroke an artist. I sat stroking his leg as he gingerly confided in me about a decade of art direction, set design and styling that has had a monumental impact on the London fashion scene. In addition to this, sitting down for a shared club mate and salad in a rainy Shoreditch spot, Jack Appleyard is charming, almost nervous, ever modest – divine....
